About Power Nadeshiko

The Power Nadeshiko Women’s Empowerment Project aims to empower and educate the community to address gender-based violence. With a focus on culturally and linguistically diverse communities, we want to encourage community discussion and education through multilingual learning resources and in-person events. In collaboration with support service providers and professionals, we strive to break down the barriers in accessing support services and connect the community with the pathways to support.

Since 2023, we have created informational videos in English and Japanese, and hosted multilingual events across Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Cairns. We are currently working to expand our resources to other language groups and regions.

Power Nadeshiko Women’s Empowerment Project is facilitated the Japan Community of Queensland Inc, which is a not-for-profit charity registered organisation working to connect and support the Japanese community in Queensland. This initiative is funded by the Queensland Government as part of their Empowering Multicultural Community Projects grant.
